Self-taught guitarist AfroPop star Bulelwa "Zahara" Mkututana who scooped multi-awards in the music industry has passed away after a short-illness.
Arts and Culture Minister Zizi Kodwa said he was very saddened by the passing of the singer and expressed his deepest condolences to her family and the South African music industry.
The talented song writer and musician scooped 17 SAMusic awards, three Metro FM awards and a Nigeria Entertainment award.
Her first album Loliwe went double platinum, her second album Phendula also took the country by storm with Country Girl, which went triple platinum, and then Nqaba Yam which became number one on iTunes.
Her fans and social media users continue to send messages of condolence to her family.
