ANC KZN chair Duma protects his comrade KZN PS Mtolo and yanks the mic from the controversial Zulu traditional Prime Minister Buthelezi

ANC Provincial Chairperson in KwaZulu-Natal Siboniso Duma snatched the microphone from the newly appointed controversial Zulu traditional Prime Minister Thulasizwe Buthelezi who wanted to turn the commemoration event for King Dinuzulu KaCetshwayo into a political point scoring affair.

This incident happened in full view of President Cyril Ramaphosa, King Misuzulu kaZwelithini and KZN Premier Nomusa Dube-Ncube.

Duma grabbed microphone from Buthelezi after accusing him of politicizing the King's event when he was about to lambast ANC provincial secretary Bheki Mtolo. “Our only request is for the provincial government of KZN to emulate your example of respecting our King. A senior leader of the ANC in this province, Bheki Mtolo…,” said Buthelezi before Duma took the microphone and ordered him to sit down.

“You are becoming clumsy. You are spoiling the event. You wasted the platform given to you,” said Duma while reprimanding AmaZulu Prime Minister.

Reportedly, the ANC leadership refused to recognise the current prime minister because their preferred candidate to succeed the late Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi is his eldest son Prince Zuzifa.

Meanwhile, the Zulu regiments attacked ANC supporters, beating them with pangas on the head.

Chairperson of the South African National Civic Organisation in Mzala Nxumalo Region, Mlungisi Zungu said the regiments are from Hostel 17 in uMlazi.

“About nine comrades who were injured are here at kwaCeza Hospital. We are worried that there’s a woman who is still unconscious. Most of our comrades were beaten on the head and the regiments who did this horrible and shameful act of criminality were coming from Hostel 17 in uMlazi, South of Durban,” said Zungu.

Zulu traditional Prime Minister Thulasizwe Buthelezi called to order by ANC Provincial Chairperson in KwaZulu-Natal Siboniso Duma for turning the commemoration event for King Dinuzulu KaCetshwayo into a political point scoring affair.
