The spokesperson of ANC Peter Mokaba Region, Adolph Rapetsoa.

The ANC in Peter Mokaba Region has confirmed that preparations to the much-anticipated 10th Regional Elective Conference are intact following the recent Special Regional Task Team (RTT) meeting held in Polokwane.

This was confirmed by the regional spokesperson Adolph Rapetsoa on March 30, 2025 in the City of Polokwane. The purpose of the Special RTT meeting was to review preparations for the 10th Regional Conference to be held next month.

As the battle between Peter Mokaba Region Convenor and Polokwane Mayor John Makoro Mpe and ANC Women’s League Provincial Chairperson and Executive Mayor Mamedupi Teffo for the ANC Peter Mokaba Regional Chairperson respectively, Rapetsoa said to The Azanian that the ANC is currently running Branch General Meetings (BGMs) to nominate delegates and leadership.

He also confirmed that the RTT appreciates the increased pace at which BGMs are taking place adding that he is confident the required 70% threshold to hold a conference will be reached by the set deadline.

Rapetsoa warned that the RTT calls for maximum discipline by all members during branch meetings and will act harshly against those who are involved in incidents of disruptions and misconduct.

In relation to the controversial politician, former ANC Member of Parliament and Ward 13 Polokwane member Boy Mamabolo who is on a temporary suspension after insulting ANC members on social media, Rapetsoa condemned his actions with contempt it deserves.

“The ANC has noted with disgust and condemns the social media utterances of comrade Mamabolo. On his social media page, comrade Mamabolo posted degrading, obscene and highly insulting words at the ANC Secretary General of the ANC, comrade Onicca Kwakwa, the late comrade Mathews Malebana. He even went to the extreme by dragging the name of the late struggle stalwart and people’s hero comrade Frans Mohlala on his onslaught,” Rapetsoa lambasted.

“The recent disgraceful utterances of comrade Mamabolo follows his continuous attacks against the Regional Convenor, comrade Makoro John Mpe. We have written to the ANC Provincial Secretary to request that the ANC institutes disciplinary proceedings against comrade Mamabolo for his continuous actions that bring the organisation into disrepute.”

The ANC RTT in Peter Mokaba Region said in a statement: “This is the same man who took the ANC to court following his failure to secure a deployment in the National Parliament, therefore he broke the oath he took in joining the ANC “voluntarily without motive of material advantage”. It is therefore our believe that this character does not belong to the people’s movement.”

The region also condemned the illegal land invasions in Polokwane Municipality especially the so called "Jujuvalley" area.

“The ANC promotes the development of integrated human settlements that are in line with spatial plans of municipalities and within the ambit of the law.  The ANC therefore condemns the illegal land invasions spearheaded by the reckless political parties and believe that Polokwane Municipality has every right to enforce its by-laws against these acts of illegality. These irresponsible acts of political parties have even led to a regrettable death case, and we send our sincere condolences to the family of the deceased," Rapetsoa.

Meanwhile, the ANC PTT of Peter Mokaba Region has urged the public to refrain from cheap political point scoring which gives birth to calamity.

Rapetsoa said:"The ANC calls upon communities to not allow themselves to be mobilised for illegal acts of land grabs by political parties that aim to score cheap political points.”
