Walter Nkuna of Ward 17 ready to serve the community.
Lepelle Nkumpi Municipality Chief Whip Given Sello has vowed that the ANC in Lebowakgomo will retain its seat of ward 17 after the by-election this week. Advocate Walter Nkuna was elected to replace Councillor Ludwick Kgaphola who passed on before the elections.
Sello said Nkuna is equal to the task because he is a seasoned and disciplined politician who has the ability to serve the people. “He is the son of the revolutionary soil who has demonstrated humility and discipline as a politician and volunteer. Comrade Walter possesses quality leadership skills. He is always prepared to serve the community and adhered to the ANC mandate without trepidation. We remain confident that the ANC will emerge victorious,” Sello said.
Sello has urged all ANC members to continue supporting their party which was formed in 1912 by John L Dube. “We must remain focused against all odds. It will be disingenuous to be overconfident and not vote in large numbers because the enemy will be ourselves because we lost our conciseness. Nkuna's strong character of not being a demagogue and populist is a good sign that the ANC has no bankruptcy of leadership,” the Chief Whip concluded.
He also thanked Kgaphola's family for allowing their son who served the ANC and the community with honour until he passed.
Nkuna told The Azanian that he will serve the people with unpretentiousness and respect. “We must put the people first and serve them with humility. We must emulate our leaders who died for freedom to emancipate us from all forms of depression. I would like to thank the ANC leadership for having confidence in me,” Nkuna said.
Lepelle Nkumpi Mayor Dr Merriam Molala said Nkuna is the right candidate who will serve the community with humbleness and respect. “Nkuna is a consummate leader therefore our community is in safe hands,” she said
