Ruthless murderer and qualified actuarial scientist Flavio Hlabangane has been sentenced to who killed his wife has life sentence for premeditated murder along with a 10-year sentence for defeating the ends of justice and an additional 15 years for violating a corpse.
In handing the judgement, Judge Cassim Moosa, at the South Gauteng High Court, Johannesburg said the 10 and 15-year sentence will run concurrently with the life term.
Reportedly, a dismembered body in the freezer at a home in Soweto was discovered. She met her boyfriend on social media and had been visiting him. During her first night while sleeping over, searching for something to cook she discovered body parts. This led to the arrest of Hlabangane after she alarmed the police.
Hlabangane confessed to killing his wife Tsheang Pitse who was also his cousin. In 2022, Pitse was buried without all her body parts. Earlier, police thought that Pitsi’s murder had to do with ritual killings tendencies until they discovered that Hlabangane plotted to kill her because he was eying for her inheritance following her mother’s death.
In court it was also established that the couple’s relationship was toxic and abusive.
