Reuben Madadzhe, the ruling party's provincial secretary committed to defuse ANC IEC list scandal
ANC Limpopo scandal of IEC list concerning five names illegally registered without being part of the final list signed off by the ANC Electoral Committee has been uncovered.
The Azanian can confirm Che Selane, Nandi Ndalane and Stan Mathabatha's ally Thabo Mabotja are some of the names that are set to be removed on the ANC Limpopo IEC list.
Without mentioning above names, ANC provincial secretary Jimmy Machaka when pressed for comment confirmed the serious allegations haunting the ruling party in Limpopo before the much-anticipated elections.
Sources within the ANC said ANC secretary general Fikile Mbalula must also account. "Cde Mbalula must account to this mess. He is becoming clumsy, and we are not going to allow that to happen in our province. That's absolute bunkum," ANC sources claimed.
Some ANC members said they hope that Mabotja did not use his friendship with ANC National Executive Committee (NEC) member Mduduzi Manana to make it into the list. "We are only hoping that comrade Manana had nothing to do with Mabotja's case because he is connected. We are not insinuating anything but just zooming in," they said.
Manana dismissed the allegations with contempt deserved. "This is absolute bunkum. I'm not even from Limpopo. I respect my comrades in all provinces. I will never do such things. The allegations must cease to exist," Manana said.
The decision to remove the affected ANC members was taken in KZN during the officials meeting. “The ANC Limpopo confirmed that there were certain comrades who are placed at a position where they are not supposed to be. Such placement is contrary to the ANC final list which was adopted by ANC NEC,” Machaka said.
The ANC Limpopo provincial spokesperson also confirmed that Reuben Madadzhe, the ruling party's provincial secretary having noted the above misfortunes wrote a letter to the National Officials and expressed concerns about the developments and findings which gave birth to IEC list scandals.
Machaka said: “The ANC Limpopo Officials and National Top 7 officials met in Durban last Monday to deal with the matter. It was indeed found that the five names captured with the IEC were not supposed to have been captured at the position where they were captured.”
The ANC in Limpopo confirmed the meeting resolved that the matter should be investigated. “The ANC will investigate who made such a capture in such a manner, the motive behind such a move, to engage on affected parties and report back to officials for the next cause of action,” Machaka said.
