Lepelle-Nkumpi Mayor, Cllr Dr Merriam Molala has condemned the killing of Lizzy Ramala, an employee attached to the Corporate Services Department. Ramala died recently after a domestic violence related incident which shocked the public of Lepelle-Nkumpi Municipality.
“This is an extremely shocking incident. It is traumatising and heartbreaking. We feel your pain, and share in your sorrow,” Dr Molala said.
The Mayor further acknowledged Ramala's dedicated service in the municipality and that Lepelle-Nkumpi continue to hold her name high. She further encourages employees to make use of our employee assistance programme (EAP) services.
Dr Molala thanked the Capricorn District Municipality (CDM) EAP and the Limpopo Department of Social Development for assisting with counselling of staff and family members. During the visit to Ramala's family home to pay tribute, the Mayor was accompanied by the Speaker of Council, Cllr Joyce Nkoabela, Acting Municipal Manager, Dorothy Diale and other Municipal staff. May her soul rest in peace.
A family representative, Makgalane Mathabatha requested men to seek help when faced with challenges rather than taking a life. He also encourages women to seek assistance in making sure that they leave a toxic environment.
