The son of the revolutionary soil Lesiba Matsemela known to his comrades as “Born Thriller” who is fearless has been appointed as the new Chief Whip of Capricorn Region District Municipality.
ANC Polokwane Sub Regional Secretary Matsemela has vowed to contribute positively to the ANC in Limpopo as well as serving the community with respect and honour without trepidation or favour.
The political leader from Seshego Zone 3, when asked for comment, told The Azanian following his appointment after being elected to crack the whip within the district municipality. “I want to thank my comrades and all those who voted for me to emerge victorious against all odds. The battlefield is my dance floor therefore will never allow anybody to subject me and my organisation to any unorthodox trends. I’m of the idea that it is better to die for the idea that will live than to live for the idea that will perish just like Ste Bantu Biko,” he added.
The fearless leader said he wants to emulate political icons like Steve Biko and OR Tambo who didn’t leave any stone unturned when confronting the apartheid regime that has subjected his predecessors to unconventional trends which gave birth to calamity in the country.
“President OR Tambo was the longest serving ANC President who was selfless. He was a good dancer who knew when to eject himself from the stage and gave his successor Tata Nelson Mandela to lead the ANC. He never causes unnecessary drama because he knew that he wasn’t entitled to his position.He respected the ANC branches who wanted Tata Mandela to succeed him,” said Matsemela who led various ANCYL structures.
“OR said the fight for freedom must go on until it is won; until our country is free and happy and peaceful as part of the community of man, we cannot rest. He also said the true facts are not always obvious. They often have to be looked for. Therefore, we must ensure that we bring back the ANC to its former glory of dominating the political landscape and enhance the community by accelerating services to them.”
He also said it will be disingenuous not to thank ANC Peter Mokaba Regional Chairperson John Makoro Mpe for believing in him. “Our Chairman is a profound consummate leader. He has a beautiful mind, and he is a real revolutionary. He continues to give us political education and we are privileged to learn from him that the greatest weapon is to respect and empower the community by putting them first and enhancing their lives. Makoro said we can never claim freedom while the economy is still in the hands of the minority,” Matsemela concluded.
ANC Peter Mokaba Deputy Regional Chairperson Kholofelo Lehong was also elected as the Speaker of CDM. Lehong is an ally of Peter Mokaba Regional Chairperson Mpe. Various ANC members have confirmed that she is equal to the task hence she emerged triumphant as the Speaker.
