Commander in Chief of the Limpopo Provincial Legislature Makoma Makhurupetje has asked for divine intervention to the 7th administration of Government of National Unity (GNU) led by ANC and SA President Cyril Ramaphosa.
She was the guest main speaker during the Post-election Thanksgiving Prayer Ceremony held at the Methodist Church of Southern Africa in Zone A, Lebowakgomo at Lepelle Nkumpi Municipality on Thursday afternoon.
Makhurupetje emulated words uttered in Psalm 77:14: “You are the God who works wonders; You have made known Your strength among the peoples.”
The service was attended by Lepelle Nkumpi Municipality Chief Whip Given Sello, Executive Mayor of Lepelle Nkumpi Municipality Dr Mologadi Molala, Lepelle Nkumpi Municipality Speaker Joyce Nkobela, Sefako Mapogo Makgatho Sub Regional Chairperson Morgan Mokwana, Ward 17 Councillor Adv Walter Nkuna and Ward 16 Councillor Joyce Makhafola.
Makhurupetje, Speaker of Limpopo Provincial Legislature who touched the hearts of those who attended the prayer service said it will be disingenuous not to seek God’s intervention because GNU is informed by various political parties with different views which are tasked by the voters to accelerate service delivery to the people by practicing what they sermonised and good governance.
She also thanked the people of Limpopo for showing confidence in the ANC with 74% votes and also making sure that Dr Phophi Ramathuba becomes the first female Premier after the peaceful elections.
