Lorch left Soweto giants Pirates for Sundowns

The South African professional soccer star, who plays as an attacking midfielder, has been confirmed to have signed with Mamelodi Sundowns on Friday.

During a press conference, Orlando Pirates announced that Tembisa Nkosi Lorch indeed left their club after discussions between Chairman Irvin Khoza and the Mamelodi Sundowns.

 Orlando Pirates wished the former Bafana Bafana midfielder success in his future endeavours in football. The Soweto giant commended him for his outstanding performances during his time with the team.

 Nyoso, known to his adoring fans was named the South African Player of the Season and Players' Player of the Season in 2019.

Lorch started his career at Katlehong Young Stars based at Qwa-Qwa before Joining Maluti FET College FC. And after a game against Jomo Cosmos got a call from Screamer Tshabalala who told him that Pirates was interested in him. His first PSL game was against Free State Stars, playing for Chippa United on loan from Orlando Pirates in the 2016-2017. He has also been loaned out to NFD outfit Cape Town All Stars in the 2015-2016 season.

Lorch is famous for being one of the most skilled South African footballers today. He is best known for his striking skills, which have gained him a lot of fans and popularity. He is a left winger who also plays right winger and attacking Midfielder.

DJ Maphorisa and Kabza De Small's 2019 song, titled Lorch was inspired by and named after him, following a stellar season he enjoyed with Orlando Pirates.

In 2019,  Lorch scored on 85 minutes to give South Africa a stunning 1-0 victory over Africa Cup of Nations hosts Egypt after a pulsating last-16 clash in Cairo . After three woeful group performances, South Africa was rank outsider against the record seven-time African champions, whose line-up included Liverpool star Mohamed Salah.  

Lorch mesmerizing Egypt and scoring the winning goal to evict them from the tournament in 2019 Afcon.
