John Makoro Mpe leader of Makoro Foundation.

Polokwane Municipality Executive Mayor John Makoro Mpe of Makoro Foundation has embarked on his Good Samaritan ethics which continues to inspire various communities countrywide.

Mpe is true testimony that the greatest wisdom is that you can’t change the world however it is potent to contribute positively to the masses to the best of your ability.

Mpe officially launched the return of Lehlogonolo “Shebeshxt” Chauke from Lebowakgomo also known as President of Ama2000 who survived a horrific accident which claimed the life of his daughter Onthatile.

Makoro announced during a press conference held at Park Inn his Foundation engaged with the talented rapper's family and reached an agreement to host the Return of Shebe through a One Man Show on 21 September 2024 at the Polokwane Rugby Fields.

“Following Shebe’s release from hospital and the burial of his daughter, the

Foundation deemed it prudent to arrange for him to return to his feet and

continue with what he does best in the entertainment industry. The purpose of the event is to officially welcome back Shebe to the entertainment scene.  Elevate Katlego to inspire and positively contribute to the lives of young people.  Raise funds towards Katlego’s medical costs and full health recovery to ensure that he is able to get back on his feet. The funds will further be utilized to establish a Foundation in honour of Katlego’s daughter, Onthatile,” Mpe said.

Shebe will be supported by various artists on that day who confirmed their availability  to Makoro Foundation.  “Moreover, the Foundation has engaged with Katlego’s colleagues in the

entertainment industry with the aim of ensuring that they support one of their

own. We are excited to inform you that most of our artists have responded

positively to our call. We will now seize this opportune moment to announce our massive line-up that will keep you on the dance floor come September the 21s,” Mpe added.

Other artists who will feature on the line-up will include;  Makhadzi, Dj Maphorisa, Kabza de Small, King Monada, Master KG, DJ Stokie,  Kharishma,  Ba Bethe Gashoazen, Double Trouble (Janisto & CK),  Shandesh,  Maredi,  Skomota, Winnie Mashaba, Pleasure,  Mapula Monyepao,  Urban Matjila and  Dr Roselyn Sathekge.

Makoro Foundation encouraged music lovers across the country to buy their tickets online at Computicket for only R150 and not wait for the last minute.

Meanwhile, Mpe vowed to continue his noble work wihout trepidation. “It was the father of our nation and first democratic President, Tata Nelson Mandela who said what counts in life is not the mere fact that we have lived. It is what difference we have made to the lives of others that will determine the significance of the life we lead. I must say that these words of Madiba capture the essence of the work and noble efforts of the Makoro Foundation. We want to give hope to the hopeless, lend a helping hand where it is most needed and make a meaningful difference to the lives of those we touch.”
