Leading from the front, Public Works, Roads, and Infrastructure MEC Tonny Rachoene.
Limpopo Public Works, Roads, and Infrastructure MEC and ANCYL Limpopo Provincial Chairperson Tonny Rachoene is leaving no stone unturned when coming to accelerating service delivery to the public.
The most hardworking MEC who warned bogus, incompetent and lazy contractors who are not performing and are hampering progress in the delivery of infrastructure in communities will be terminated is proving his nemeses wrong by ensuring that the status of the construction of bridge to replace the iconic steel bridge outside Steelpoort in Sekhukhune which is being implemented by Road Agency Limpopo is at over 80%progress.
Rachoene of Dikerekgere projects who was joined by Kgoshi Malekane said: “Our communities stakeholders, including traditional leaders, are also delighted with this development. I was joined by Kgoshi Malekane and Councillors where we were monitoring service delivery that is currently implemented by our department in the area. We remain committed to accelerate service delivery without trepidation."
Earlier, Rachoene unlocked the construction of D3669 Mavhunga access road in the Makhado Municipality.
As part of his mission to accelerate service delivery, MEC Rachoene vowed that this project that stalled about a year ago will no longer be subjected to a snail pace.
“We briefed the local Traditional Authorities and other stakeholders just before I led a sod turning ceremony symbolising the continuation of the construction of the road. Our people deserve better, and we must deliver services to them speedily. Our Premier Dr Phophi “Maswarathipa ka bogaleng” Ramathuba gave us a mandate that we must prioritise our people. We will not hesitate to take action against those who are subjecting our people to poor services,” said MEC Rachoene who was accompanied by the RAL Accounting Authority Ntate Moss Tseli, Acting CEO Makhita Chesane and the Senior Management of Public Works, Roads and Infrastructure we came to Phadzima-Dzumbathoho Village to introduce a new contractor after the previous one was terminated by RAL, due to non-performance.
His colleagues from the Makhado Local Municipality Cllr Dorcas Mboi and a representative of Vhembe District Municipality Executive Mayor Cllr Miyelani “Mabanana” Chauke, also graced the occasion.
