Duduzile Zuma-Sambudla and the party’s Secretary-General Floyd Shivambu.
A dirty laundry of former President Jacob Zuma’s new political toy uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) Party is once again exposed in the eyes of the public.
A tug of war erupting between Zuma’s daughter Duduzile Zuma-Sambudla and the party’s Secretary-General Floyd Shivambu has escalated which gave birth to anarchism and ill-discipline.
Zuma-Sambudla was forced by her father to issue a public apology and apologies for putting the party into disrepute after hauling insults to Shivambu on her X-page platform.
The aggrieved Zuma-Sambudla frustrations exposed that indeed the center within the MK party is not holding despite that the party claimed they are united and will take over from the former ruling party ANC which is 113-years-old.
Zuma-Sambudla labelled Shivhambu weak and incompetent. She wrote on her X-page : “Floyd I’m not scared of you! Tell your minions to F*** off … bloody mafikizolos (newcomers)”. She rocketed again one her X-page: “F*** you Floyd” and “worst thing that happened to MK.”
This happens barely a month after The Azanian published that the divisions with the MK Party are being excavated despite the fact that the MK Party head of the Presidency, Magasela Mzobe, attempted to eliminate reports that the rot is too deep within Zuma’s new political toy.
“Commanders and ground forces of the MK Party, stay focused on the task. Comrade Floyd, the SG of the MK Party, is not going anywhere. He remains a trusted SG by President Zuma and the organisation,” Mzobe said.
To add to their woes tension is also erupting between MK Party Chief Whip Jimmy Manyi and the party’s parliamentary caucus leader, controversial former Judge Dr John Hlope. This is over a poor speech that he has delivered during the debate of the 7th administration State of the Nation Address (SONA).
Manyi blamed Shivhambu former Judge Hlope’s poor speech after he was lambasted by his party caucus members.
Reportedly some within the party alleged that Hlophe was set up at the last minute to deliver the weak written speech which embarrassed him.
Meanwhile, Zuma-Sambudla sent an apology to all MK Party members and the people of South Africa, and the structures in which she serves, however not directly to Shivhambu .
“As a committed and disciplined member of the uMkhonto weSizwe Party, I hereby extend this unconditional public apology to president [Jacob] Zuma and uMkhonto WeSizwe Party leadership for the profanity used in my recent posts on X,” said Zuma-Sambudla.
She expressed unhappiness about Shivambu’s handling of her strong issues.
“While I hold strong and personal views, including serious concerns about internal party matters, my perceptions of how certain issues may be handled within the organisation, especially by the party’s secretary-general, I fully recognise that such concerns should have been, and shall be, addressed through the proper internal channels, as dictated by the core values and principles of the glorious movement of the people,” said Zuma-Sambudla.
