ANC Peter Mokaba Region congratulates Municipalities in the Region for heeding to President Cyril Ramaphosa’s call of clean governance and prioritising service delivery to all communities countrywide.

ANC Peter Mokaba Regional Spokesperson Adolph Rapetswa said the ANC region
congratulates municipalities within the Region for being among the outstanding recipients of the SALGA Limpopo Moses “Big Moss” Maluleke Municipal awards in Bela Bela on March,13 2025. The SALGA awards focused, among others, on prudent financial management and expenditure on grants by various municipalities.
“The categories which were won by municipalities in our Region clearly demonstrates the impressive work of our deployees in governance and financial management. We are elated by this recognition and hope it will inspire them to work even harder to ensure that quality services reach our communities. We further encourage our municipalities not only to be effective in responding to service delivery challenges but become more efficient such that all their programs result in meaningful impact in our communities,” Rapetswa added.
The municipalities received the following key awards:
1. Capricorn District Municipality -
• Achieving a clean audit
• 100% spending on water infrastructure services grant
• 100% MIG spending on initial allocation and receiving additional allocation
• 95% spending on additional MIG allocation
• Not incurring unauthorised expenditure in 2023/24
• Innovation in municipal digital solution
2. City of Polokwane
• 100% spending of water services infrastructure grant
• 100% spending of regional bulk infrastructure grant
• Sustaining unqualified audit opinion
• In-house preparation of annual financial statements
• Improved municipal council grading
• Innovation in municipal digital solution
3. Lepelle-Nkumpi Municipality
• Sustaining unqualified audit opinion
• Not incurring unauthorised expenditure in 2023/24
• Not incurring fruitless and wasteful expenditure in 2023/24
4. Blouberg Municipality
• 100% MIG spending on initial allocation and receiving additional MIG allocation
• 95% spending on additional MIG
• Not incurring unauthorised expenditure in 2023/24
• Not incurring fruitless and wasteful expenditure in 2023/24
5. Molemole Municipality
• 100% MIG spending on initial allocation and receiving additional MIG allocation
• 95% spending on additional MIG
• Sustaining unqualified audit opinion
• Not incurring fruitless and wasteful expenditure in 2023/24
“The ANC in the Region once more congratulates our municipalities for their outstanding performance at the SALGA awards,” Rapetswa concluded.
