Tshidiso Sibanda known as DJ Bandox is a force to be reckoned with

Tshidiso Sibanda, known as DJ Bandox from Lebowakgomo, has been entertaining the crowd for more than 10 years. The music maestro is one of the founders of Greater Lebowakgomo FM who served as the station manager from 2014 to 2016. 

 

Furthermore, Tshidiso is the manager of Roldox Entertainments who was born on December 28, 1976. He is also known for hosting an annual event on his birthday, where he invites renowned Limpopo DJs to share their skills in the music industry. Sunday Soul Session Event which attracts music lovers across Limpopo is Tshidiso’s brainchild.

 

DJ Bandox's journey as a DJ began in 1990 when he started performing at taverns and events while still in primary school. His passion for music was inherited from his three brothers, and his sister's love for RNB Souls further fuelled his interest. Growing up surrounded by music enthusiasts, DJ Bandox developed a deep love for entertaining the people. He received guidance from Arthur Mafokate's brother, Biza Mafokate, who taught him the intricacies of sound operation. Biza would often take him to events to enhance his knowledge in the music industry.

 

As DJ Bandox's talent was nurtured, societies became increasingly interested in his work. Individuals such as Matome Kobe, Collen Malema, IBM Thoka, and the late Sipho Kutumela recognized his potential and encouraged him to establish a radio station. While working as a promoter, DJ Bandox attempted to create a radio station in 1996, but unfortunately, it was not successful. In 1998, he collaborated with Edwin MachabaPhala, Fish Rachidi, Edmond Lekhotwane (late), Pinky Pitso, Irene Kekane , Bona, and Simon Mengwai, continuing his work as a promoter while awaiting the licensing of the radio station by.

 

He has successfully produced presenters who are currently working for Thobela FM. His initial plan was to establish Lebowakgomo TV, but due to various challenges, this endeavour is not expected to materialize in the near future. Despite facing criticism and having his work undermined, it is worth noting that he did not even attend university. However, individuals would seek his guidance and mentorship.

 

Furthermore, he has had the privilege of sharing the stage with renowned personalities such as DJ Sintle, Peter Mashata, Bamboo Johnson, Misize Shembe, and Tebos Mokwele, among others. Additionally, he has hosted significant events where he invited esteemed DJs such as Glen Lewis, DJ Cleo, and T. Deep.

 

DJ Bandox has urged promising DJs to respect their craft and never lose hope."Determination and dedication are crucial, regardless of the challenges you may encounter along the way. Pursuing what you love most serves as a purpose,” he concluded.
