Celebrated actor Connie Chiume.
Internationally acclaimed fabulous actor Connie Chiume known to her adoring fans as Mam’Sonto following her superb performance in Gomora telenovela who died recently at the age of 72 on 6 August at Garden City Hospital will be buried on Thursday, 15th August at 8:00 at Oasis of Life Family Church in Daveyton, Gauteng.
The memorial service of the Black Panther (2018) star will be on August 13 at 12:00 at the same venue of her funeral.
Mme Connie who also appeared in Beyonce's Black Is King (2020) movie and shows like Zone 14, Soul City, Mazinyo Dot Q and Gomora.
Legendary actors, Sello Maake ka Ncube and Marah Louw respectively both said Mme Connie was a true professional and talented actor who left a credible legacy internationally and locally.
Details about veteran actor Connie Chiume's memorial and funeral services have been announced.
Her colleague Hollywood actor Lupita Nyong'o, who starred with her in Black Panther said: “We have lost a library.May Connie Chiume rest in peace and power.”
Thembi Seete of Gomora telenovela fame said: “Gomora family, we were united mainly because of your parental guidance. You effortlessly switched between being a mentor and a friend, making us feel seen and heard. Your generosity and kindness, like when Black Panther surprised you with a cheque and you celebrated by spoiling us with food and treats, are in my memory.”
